We spend our health trying to obtain wealth, then spend the wealth trying to recover our health. When I did slow down and pray for a while, the Lord said “Why not let me be God for a while?” I guess in my hustle and bustle that I had replaced Him as the center of my life. Once again, I had lost my focus. He was no longer the God of my life, either I was, or my problems, depending on what day it was.
Put God first in your life, talk to Him, inquire of Him when making decisions, invite Him to be a part of your day, and then the other things will fall into place automatically. Jesus said: ‘But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well’ (Matthew 6:33). When you do lose yourself in the Lord, He will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4).
Let God be God for a while today and stop trying to be Him. He can carry much more than you can. He can handle the pressure. He can see what is coming and prepare you for it. Sometimes we just need to be still and let God, be the God of our life.
